About Me

So let me tell you a little about me. I am a 22-year-old writer-director. I went to film school, sort of... It was an intensive 2-year course where we would go through every department, from production to sound, editing, screenplay, acting, lighting, etc. I participated in over 50 short films, in various positions, as well as writing and directing four of my own films during that time. And now, I am pursuing a master's in screenwriting. Also, I am in the process of writing my very first feature film.

What Will You Get?

To be completely honest with you, I am not sure. It is really a work in progress. But my intention with this newsletter is to create a community of aspiring filmmakers so that we have a space to talk about the challenges of working in this industry, as well as how to hone our craft. I will be discussing my own path and challenges as an up-and-coming filmmaker, as well as creating curated newsletters that basically revolve around relevant film industry information and what I am personally doing to improve my skills. I will discuss what I am studying, share courses, articles, movie recommendations, breakdowns, relevant books, and much more.

I want to create a community of both experienced and novice filmmakers and storytellers, where we can advise one another, ask questions, network, and learn from one another. Being a hub to discuss ideas, techniques, and everything that entails finding your voice and the skills that will be needed.

Posting Schedule

I will be posting at least once a week, a curated newsletter detailing what I have been studying during that week, sharing courses, books, YouTube channels, movie recommendations, and breakdowns of what I have learned. Hopefully, this can help generate conversation around those topics as well as present new and useful information from which to draw.
